Dr. Herbert Schwager has over 40 years of clinical, academic and research experience in treating the BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE needs of individuals and families. He has been and continues to be a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Arizona, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alaska where he maintains a private practice in greater Phoenix and the Payson “Rim” country of Arizona now adding the entirety of Alaska.
The last twelve years he has devoted his expertise to the evolution and expansion of Tele-Behavioral-Medicine, specifically the use of the video conferencing technology in the delivery of clinical Behavioral Medicine. Dr. Schwager was and continues today as one of the (original) Arizona Telemedicine Programs Clinical Directors. The Arizona Telemedicine Program is one of the largest and most comprehensive telemedicine programs in the nation, where Dr. Schwager’s role has been assisting in the development, implementation and growth of Tele-Psychiatry and Tele-Behavioral-Medicine specialties.
As the technology becomes more user friendly and cost effective, he is turning his efforts towards offering his expertise on a larger scale, making himself and other associates available throughout Arizona and Alaska.
Dr. Schwager’s wife, Tina, a Registered Nurse, and Director of our local Home Health and Hospice Agency has partnered in the development of this service and assists regularly.

Lyn Freeman is a specialist, researcher, and consultant of mind-body medicine as treatment for chronic disease. She is the CEO/ President of Mind Matters Research, LLC, an Alaskan-based mind-body medicine research center. Lyn is currently principle investigator for a Phase II National Cancer Institute-funded research study of a mind-body imagery program she created for breast cancer survivors. The imagery program, entitled Envision the Rhythms of Life, produced statistically and clinically significant outcomes in Phase I and is currently being tested with survivors in Alaska and Washington state. The program was specifically designed to deal with PTSD, chemo-brain, fatigue, and other late-term and long-term effects of cancer and its treatments. Lyn has authored academic textbooks, chapters and medical manuals on the evidence, benefits and limitations of complementary and alternative medicine. Her most recent academic text is Mosby’s Complementary and Alternative Medicine: A Research Based Approach(3rd ed) (2008). She maintains a private practice in Anchorage, which specializes in counseling for cancer survivors and their family members. |

Suzanne Arlene Sisley, MD |

Dr. Suzanne Sisley, MD entered a thriving private practice 8 years ago, joining forces with her mother, Hanna Sisley, MD, a family practice physician in the inner city of Phoenix. They are reportedly the only mother-daughter MD-physician team in the Phoenix area. In addition to her duties at her private office, Sue also serves as Clinical Faculty at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center at the MercyCare Adult Medicine Clinic for indigent patients in Phoenix, AZ. Sue also spends 2 days per week at a homeless clinic caring for Seriously Mentally Ill patients. Sue graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Chemistry/Pre-Med and a minor in Theater. She proceeded to Tucson where she completed her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. In 2000, Dr. Sisley completed her five-year Residency Training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in the fields of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.
Dr. Sisley works closley with Dr. Schwager as "co-therapist" in their atypical psychophamacology telemedicine cliniic, as a part of the Arizona Telemedicine Program. Both Drs. Sisley and Schwager operate a totally telemedicine based Suboxone treatment program for patients with opoid dependence. |
 Dr. Steven Otto is a board-certified OB-GYN, experienced in quality assurance and risk management. He has additionally a degree in Health Care Law.
He currently works as the medical-legal consultant for Medi-Cal Investigations in the State of California.
He resides in Arizona and works in California, making for a lot of air miles. His wife Cathy is a special educator with expertise in early children’s literacy programs. |
